You can use “～といいです” when you want to say “I hope…, I wish…”.
Verb short form + to といいです means, I hope you do …( hope something happen nice).
Verb short form + to といいんですが means, I hope something happen nice for myself .
* these patterns cannot be used when things are under your control.
