Meaning

Ijirarekyara refers to a “character that gets teased” or “person who is the butt of jokes.” It’s a Japanese term composed of three parts:

いじられ (ijirare) = being teased, made fun of, or joked about
キャラ (kyara) = character, persona, or role (from English “character”)

So literally, it means “a character/persona that gets teased.”

Key characteristics:

It describes someone who is habitually teased or joked about by friends, colleagues, or group members in a light-hearted, playful way (not malicious bullying)
The teasing is typically done in good humor, and the person may willingly accept or even embrace this role
It’s often used in casual, friendly contexts like school, workplaces, or friend groups
The person with this role is usually not seriously harmed by the teasing—it’s meant to be fun

Important distinction: Unlike いじめっ子 (ijimekko – bully), which involves harmful or malicious behavior, いじられキャラ involves playful banter among friends where everyone is generally laughing together.
