 How to make”Causative-passive” in Japanese.

You can use “~させられる” when you want to say “Causative-passive..”.

You are made to do or forced to do something by someone.

The patterns is below:


Group 2 verb stem+させられる たべます→たべ+させられる:たべさせられる
Group 1 verb ends with す す→させられる はなす→はなさせられる
Group 1 verb あstep+される のむ→のまされる
irregular くる こさせられる
する させられる

 Examples of sentence

I was forced by my girlfriend to pick her up at the station .

I was ordered by my teacher to study..

I was forced to eat tomato although I don’t like it..
