You can use “あげる/くれる/もらう” when you want to give something to someone, and You receive something from someone ,and Someone gives you something..
「あげる」 is the Japanese word for “to give” seen from the speaker’s point of view.
「くれる」 is the Japanese word for “someone gives me”.
「もらう」 meaning, “to receive” has only one version unlike 「あげる／くれる」 so there’s very little to explain.
The patterns is below:
Person は Recipient + あげる/くれる
Person は/が Giver + に/から もらう
Examples of sentence
私はメアリーさんに花をあげます。
I will give Mary flowers.
メアリーさんは私にチョコレートをくれました。
Mary gave me a chocolate.
私は大学からしょうがくきんをもらいました。
I got a scholarship from the university.
