～なくてもいいです： need not

　How to make” need not ..” in Japanese.

You can use “～なくてもいい ” when you want to say “need not to do something”.

Verb negative stem ( drop “i”) + ku te mo ii = don’t have to do somethings

The patterns is below:

Negative form + （dropい）くてもいい

Conjugation

verb	short form negative, drop い, add くてもいいです	いかなくてもいいです
いadjective		やすくなくてもいいです
なadjective		きれいじゃなくてもいいです
noun		ごうかくじゃなくてもいいです

あなたは学校にこなくてもいいです。
You don’t have to came to school.

たくさん仕事をしなくてもいいです。
You don’t have to work too much.

日本人じゃなくてもいいです。
